The time now is 4.50am. Amazing, I have been composing for 5+ hours! Eventually, and finally, I’m done and I’m really proud of myself. I wonder if the reactions from which I hope to achieve from the listeners will tally with reality?
Life, oh life, what have you done to me? Hahaha…. Oh gosh.
Time to sleep before waking up to 1-day spamming of History facts?! Please save me…..

SYF is over – ONE OF MY Reasons for DSA has ended
Posted by alastairsc under Uncategorized[2] Comments
SYF’s over.. Gone. The 2nd Silver in TJC’s 30 years of SYF history was made – sadly, by my year. It was a journey back to school full of question marks, tears and tense atmosphere. The whole bus was silent, with occasional sniffs of mucus back into one’s nose. Eyes were puffy and red, lips had a curved shape downwards, and every one avoided eye contact with anyone. It was terrible, devastating, unbearable.
Of course, it’s not about the award. Cliche and cheesy as it may sound, it really is about the journey taken together with the greatest bunch of friends and second-family members in my life! It was a journey full of ups and downs, full of annoyance and pleasure.
Of course, the times spent in the saxophone section as the only junior in the section really can be described as the best feeling ever. There is nothing to compare playing with my J2 seniors because amazingly, we roughly know how to connect and blend with each other i guess. Definitely, the times we’ve been through is madness. I still remember so clearly and vividly how I was so pressurised and stressed about SYF that during a sectional practice under LT1 one day, I sort of screamed at Linda (My SL T_T) because I was so disturbed and uneasy that when I couldn’t come in on time, she simply asked if I was okay and I went all defensive of myself and crazy. I’m so glad things did not sour. That’s because my section understood and tolerated.
Coming into TJC, once again I must say, was something very much foreign and uneasy for me. I’ve never had a senior and coming into the schol full of J2s and commands, duties made to do – it was simply intolerable. Sigh…
Coming into TJC to receive a Silver Award was definitely something not in my agenda when I decided to DSA there. But thinking back, I do not regret one bit of it. I do not regret playing the way we played for SYF, I do not regret not doing things which I could have done. I felt a certain honour and pride while playing EXTREME MAKEOVER. If not for the DSA, I wouldn’t have gotten to know such a challenging and crazy piece and whatsmore, I can tell everyone that the band attempted it with so much gusto and pride. We got through this craziest piece ever attempted in SYF. Who will follow our footsteps? Who will attempt Extreme Makeover the next SYF? Even a band director full of years of experience will probably think twice.
Ending off, Lin Sheng wanted us to attempt Extreme Makeover wasn’t solely for the award, but for challenging himself – for challenging the typical stereotype of playing it safe at competitions.
We’ve made a mark, we’re one infamous Silver band. We’ll embrace and watch otu for us @ Prelude! LOLLLL
I hope I don’t sound too extremist. ROAR!!

I can’t even recall when was the last I ever logged into this account to post or just check out certain stats of my blog haha.. Life’s way too hectic!
The feeling I get from the whole JC experience so far is just like the feeling of how you’ll feel when teachers drill you for the O Levels… And it’s just getting progressively terrible and traumatising!
Assignments piling up, deadlines so very tight, rest is never enough etc etc… Haha how I wish I’m going through what my seniors went through – ponning lessons and skipping lectures. What the heck, no one’s dong that in school now! HAHAHA not that I want to follow them… But their lives seemed to meaning and rich in life.
I went out to meet my Sec 4 friends just about a week ago! They’re a really nice bunch of people oh gosh I really felt good having met them again at this weird timing!
The guys of the group! Hahahaha
And I just got pictures of Fiesta from Linda!! HAHA finally LOL

I wake up far beyond the time in which I usually wake up. I go home far later than when I usually get home from a typical day of school inĀ Pei Hwa.
Life rocks hahahahahahahahahahaha
am pretty busy now with homework! As well as revision.. I should get on it.

I need a lounge with a soft band sipping on a glass of ice chilled orange juice and just staring into the blankness of the lounge with dear people with me just chilling out. No talking just sipping juice silently and feeling cool in the cold environment before heading off to the crazy start of a new week.
Just simply need some chilling and hanging out time without any time limitations!~

Can’t really explain how I feel… Just have that feeling like many things are going to come up/are happening/have happened! It’s just like a little too much to bear HAHA what the heck… Don’t understand.
In this state I’m in now, it sounds weird but I really need some lounge music and orange juice in a nice cold dimly lit studio.
Do you like that atmosphere?
Well, today’s band prac was really nice because it pushed me so much! We ran through Extreme Makeover 3 times what the heck can you beat that? That achievement is better than scoring 210 for bubble wrap. Hahaha…
But with the cuts of the parts and stuff like that, there really isn’t much to play, just that the passages are so long that very quickly the 10 minute limit is up. But it’s fun and really challenging so yea I like to challenge myself even further.
I’m back to using a reed which is 3 in hardness! Definitely has almost zero air sound but I have to master the art of having a nice tone on a less resistant reed! Been relying too much on a hard reed which makes note changes smooth and the sound to sound nice but I won’t have any stamina with the excessive use of my diaphragm and lungs! Also, the sound produced is so much more focussed and targeted instead of sounding whooshy and wheeshie and blumpy and gory. LOL?
Lunch with TJCSB is really great because we get to talk about real situations in life? I don’t know, somehow conversations regarding the superficial “You know *** got *** for his results! Aiyoh, I wonder where *** can go leh! Die lah he…” and all the “Eh eh eh you know *** is not going out with *** and it’s freaking annoying that *** is giving **** attention!!!”
And stuff like that.
Well, my auditions have been pushed to after school on Monday. You must wish me luck because I really am interested in taking music as a subject in JC. I hope I can make it!
Yea you can pop in some 80’s night music in addition to the light jazz lounge music… Haiya. And a cold juice haha mmm…
Complications in life tsk tsk tsk…
Eh, byebye.
p.s who says I’m emo! LOL
