December 2007

Yes, it’s good to resolve and think of a better year. But it’s gonna be bad if you do not follow it!!

1. I resolve to speak appropriate and accurate english.
2. I resolve to think positive about the change of class.
3. I resolve to stand my ground about E2 being better than E1, and why I have been transferred to the ’second-best’ class.
4. I resolve to show that arrogant little thing a thing or two about humility and retribution.
5. Thus, I resolve to mug for at least an hour everyday, touching on the subject taught in class that day.
6. I resolve to enhancing my tongue for ‘th’ words like The, They, Them, Thy.
7. I resolve to enhancing my life throughout the year, with community involvement programmes and such.
8. I resolve to improve much on my instruments.
9. I resolve to opening up to my friends.
10. I resolve to spending a day at the beach every fornightly weekend.

It’s good to think big!!!!
Little people can do big things!!
Except the fact that I’m not exactly a tinch ‘little’. :( (

11. I THUS RESOLVE TO TRIMMING MY BODY. HAHA.

Yea. That makes it 11.

1. Lose weight with water. XXX
Water is essential for everybody – it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven’t been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.

2. Soup up your weight loss program. XXX
A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don’t eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.

3. Eat early to keep weight off. XXX
The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently. XXX
Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet. XXX
Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don’t last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function – not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

6. Walk off the weight. XXX
The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

When do I get to check all those??? :(
I should invest in a new year resolution.

BUT first!!! I got to start reading through a whole article. Damn.

O-M-G I still can’t believe I have so many things untouched. Well, many at he top of my priority list is way down below at my want-to-do list. *Sigh* I don’t like this either.

Anyway I have been thinking about this HAHA: Does MOE know about my school’s amount of holiday homework and the short amount of holiday time we have? Maybe this doesn’t only apply to my school but I’m literally living in hell and it’s so torturous and exasparating I’m going to die of anything that comes my way.

 Help, help help!

BUT at least the rainbow finally came out after the heavy thunderstorm!

For goodness’ sake, I’ve got to touch my work soon. :( (

Anyway, LOTS OF FIRST TIMES FOR ME THIS WEEK! I’ve practically been out everyday this whole week!

Yesterday’s been really awesome! The 33rd NCO had out 4-people Saxes gathering and though we have 15 of us, 4’s great. So Eugene, Wanning, Lay Kai and I rampaged Raffles and Orchard. Almost. First the blurry us (mostly the direction-idiot Alastair) walked West when Cineleisure was East. How fantastic! Well firstly I had to keep my pride so when they thought it was the right place, I had to rub it in and say ‘I TOLD YOU!’ and give a cheery laugh but almost everytime I did that, everytime I was wrong. So I guess shutting up could have been something more relevant. ANYWAY, we finally had our search completed when we eventually walked East.

Anyway, we actually thought of watching Fred Clause and planned for quite some time over lunch to keep our day exciting. But after much plannings and pain (and after reaching the BOX OFFICE), we decided not to. HOW NICE?! So we walked and walked, I guess I’ve never walked that much in my life just for shopping or window-shopping, whatever they call it, because we walked from Cathy Cineleisure all the way to Far East Plaza. COOL RIGHT! Faintz.

Upon reaching that distinctively contrasted customer population area, we went all the way down to the basement floor to check out some cheapo clothing and accessories. Not fun at all. So punky. And it was the first time I actually walked through one level of shops. Unbelievable isn’t it?! I can’t believe it myself too. Maybe I should do that more often so as to puncture my spare tyre. Totally not needed.

Walking in to check out mini-skirts and skimpy tops. That’s also a first time for me. Ugh.

We walked and we walked. AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT?! We took the bus up all the way to Shenton Way before taking another bus right down to Ang Mo Kio Hub! AURGHHH!! It was almost a 2-hour ride! Damn but it really perked me up after that because I’ve gotten a nice nap on the bus. The air-con was chilly! For once! But throughout the whole journey, us 2 guys were snoring and snoozing while the 2 chatty girls actually kept talking non-stop for like throughout the whole journey!!!! My whole nap was actually so much disrupted! Goodness! With my MP3 player almost blasting and with me being sub-concious, I swear I could still hear the murmurs of the girls. Goodness gracious.

As we graced through Ang Mo Kio Hub, I had my first Subway (Eat Fresh) sandwich! I was such a newbie I can’t believe they had to even quickly reccomend a few popular toppings and stuff just so that they could keep the queue flowing. Amusing. And I guess I’m really like a living idiot on Earth because I called lettuce CABBAGE‘. But still, that counter-girl shouldn’t have given me that shocking expression! Urgh~

And OFF to Yio Chu Kang Secondary School! Ironically, it’s situated in Ang Mo Kio. Hehe. It was Ivy’s investiture. What band tradition! Tsk tsk, I wish my bandmates were more respectful of us the Seniors! Well I guess Do Onto Others As You Want Others To Do Onto You because that’s probably what’s happening. Oh well, ensemble pieces were played and much applause was given even though they kind of screwed it up having have their scores under the air-con because the scores kept flying. Oh well :P But it was all great! Congratulations Miss Ivy Chin on your Chairperson & Treasurer posts! You wouldn’t believe my shocked face because she was called Treasurer first and I kept going on ‘You’ll be chairman one lah!’!! Maybe I shouldn’t have, but all turned well as the last cert that gave out, the Chairperson cert, was to Ivy as well. Great work!

Bus rides are fun and I saw my 2 schoolmates (Dorothy & Hui Shan) on the same bus as us 4 as we headed back to Ang Mo Kio Hub before to our own nest again. Hope all’s well!

It was a really great experience and I guess I teared up on our goodbye again. Well thanks guys because you’ve been such great company!

p.s It’s probably Saxophone tradition to be latecomers. Hehe I thought I’d be the last when I arrived at 12.15pm when we should’ve met at 12pm. The rest came at 1240pm. ZzZz

p.p.s.s I so much want to post about today’s great expenditure but I guess I’ll wait when less words should be saided :P
